Daily rhythm

A day at Little Shining Stars

A familiar rhythm helps children feel secure, with plenty of time for play, meals and rest.

  1. 6:30am

    Doors open

A calm welcome, a chat with your child’s educator and breakfast for early arrivals.

  2. 9:00am

    Morning tea and group time

Songs, stories and planning the day’s projects together.

  3. 9:30am

    Play and discovery

Indoor and outdoor play built around what the children are curious about.

  4. 11:30am

    Lunch

A cooked meal shared at the table, with educators sitting alongside.

  5. 12:30pm

    Rest and quiet time

Sleep or quiet activities. Babies follow their own routine from home.

  6. 2:30pm

    Afternoon tea

Then music, movement, art and more time outside.

  7. 5:00pm

    Late snack

A light snack for children staying past 5pm while families arrive.

  8. 6:30pm

    Last pick-up

Time to hear about the day and see what your child made.

Times are a guide and vary by room. Babies follow their own routine.

What families say

“Very caring, strong educational and social values”

Lovely centre. Very caring, strong educational and social values. Very flexible and accommodating. I have no hesitation highly recommending this centre.

“Welcoming, kind and gentle souls”

I cannot thank the wonderful staff at LSS Wayville enough for their efforts in caring for, educating, and nurturing my 2yr daughter. After transitioning from a different child care centre I couldn’t believe the improvement in her behaviour and how quickly Emerald was picking up and leaning new things - new activities, new words, new friends and social skills. It was a breathe of fresh air and relief to experience this positive change and influence, especially as a first time Mum. The team are welcoming, kind and gentle souls who take pride in their work and their centre. I highly recommend this centre. Until next time! Thank you thank you thank you!

Questions

Questions families ask

The things most parents want to know before their first visit.

See all questions

Still have a question? Our centre teams are happy to talk it through.

What ages do you care for?

We care for children from 6 weeks old through to school age. Each centre has age-based rooms, from Nursery to a Kindy program. The rooms offered differ slightly between centres.

What are your opening hours?

All five centres are open Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 6:30pm. You can book full days, mornings (6:30am to 12:30pm) or afternoons (12:30pm to 6:30pm), from one to five days a week.

How much does childcare cost?

Daily fees vary by centre and are listed on each centre page, from $150 to $166 a full day before the subsidy. Casual days cost a little more. Most families are eligible for the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy, which is paid directly to us and lowers what you pay.

Are meals included?

Yes. We serve breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack every day, all included. Menus are allergy aware with vegetarian and vegan options, and our Klemzig and Pooraka centres are fully vegetarian. To keep every child safe from allergies, please don’t send food from home. The exceptions are formula, breast milk and baby food, or a special diet agreed with your centre.

Flexible days

Sessions and fees

Book the days that suit your family, from one day a week to five.

Full days start from $150 before the subsidy, and each centre page lists its fees. Many families are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy, which is paid directly to us and reduces what you pay.
